
The Association for all Cricket Umpires and Scorers based in Warwickshire
Aimed at umpires who are suitably experienced and eligible for Level 2 preparation for Senior or Premier League panels.
Delivered by ACO approved external tutors usually of at least Level 3 qualification. The course follows completion of Level 1A and a further season's officiating. It consists of
(1) Two-day course and up to two year programme including self and peer assessment over a minimum of ten matches plus completion and professional discussion of their portfolio.s
(2) An obligation to officiate in and complete reports on at least 10 matches of an appropriate standard
(3) Boundary assessment of two of those matches by an ACO Regional Assessor
(4) Review of those assessments with the Boundary Assessor
(5) Post season review and assessment of match reports and log book by a different Assessor
(6) If all this is satisfactory, certification at Level 2
(7) Level 2 graduates may go forward, by invitation/regional recommendation only, to Level 3.
There is a self-development option - Level 2C. This involves completing the 6 Level 2 Course modules in the candidate's own time but there are no boundary assessments and no professional's discussion as for the full Level 2.
•An ECB ACO Level 2 qualification certificate is awarded on successful completion. Course fee includes all course materials and workbook. A Level 2 course is proposed in 2011 and is by invitation only.
