Minutes of Annual General Meeting Tuesday, 16th January 2007 Players Dining Room, Edgbaston Apologies: Ian Thompson, Malcolm Davis, Jonathan Cousin, Oliver Burley, Bob Mason, Peter Cardus & Mike Shaw Alan Oakman, President of the association opened the meeting at 7.45pm Minutes of the last AGM 2006 were proposed by Trevor Cotton proposed and Denis Kelly seconded, agreed by all members present. Maters arising: Transfer of MCCUA&S funds was raised and discussed, since we have written to them in the past and have not received any response therefore the decision was that new committee will deal with this issue. Membership Cards were issued for the first time. Chairman’s report was presented and approved. Secretary’s report was presented and approved. Treasurer’s report was presented and approved. Appointment of Independent Examiners: It was suggested to ask Peter Cardus and Jonathan Cousin to do the job. Subscription: The new membership fee proposed by the committee is as follows: Members not umpiring £ 5.00, Members not in employment, £ 10.00, Members in employment £ 15.00 The above structure was agreed and approved by all present Election: The following election officers of the association (Committee) were elected: President Alan Oakman, Chairman Brian Hamblett, Vice Chair Brian Hall, Secretary Ghazan Awan, Treasurer David Ludlow, Training Officer John Jameson, Appointment Officer Brian Goodall, Registrar Roy Froggatt, Scorer’s Rep Colin McKenzie, Welfare Officer Brian Goodall, Other members John Nash, David Paxton Auditors Peter Cardus, Jonathan Cousin All the above officers were elected unopposed. The president handed over the meeting to Brian Hamblett Chairman, who thanked Alan Oakman and all present for electing the new officers. Any other business: Tony Martin suggested that an annual presentation should be made about the training course conducted by the association, and an annual dinner should be introduced as well. Day at Edgbaston will be on 15th August. Denis Kelly raised the point that demise of any members during the year must be acknowledged at the AGM. John Jameson thanked and acknowledged on behalf of WCB and all umpires the hard work undertaken by Brian Goodall as appointment officer. Tony Gray enquired about training programme, whether this for Level-6, and when Level 4/5 will be held, John explained that we can arrange for all levels provided there were enough candidates for each level. Tony martin enquired if we are going to produce new Logos and ties for WCUSA. Constitution Amendment Additional Clause The Committee has agreed to propose to this AGM the following additional clause: Dissolution In the event of dissolution of Warwickshire Umpires & Scorers Association (WCUSA), any assets of the association which remain will pass to its successor organisation. If no such organisation is formed, then such assets will be applied to a similar umpiring and scoring organisation as decided by membership of the association. |
